I know it was Thanksgiving but there were still almost 3,000 visitors to the site. I would have expected more replies but sadly only one was given. The winner of the only invite (out of 5 I was going to give today) was gomezbeats who wanted his wave invite to give to “friends and colleagues”. Enjoy your invite and thanks for the reply. I guess I will just give out the rest of the invites for today on the #GoogleWaveInvites irc channel on freenode. If you are in need of an invite and are able to idle on irc for a few hours at a time check us out. If you do not have an irc client, here is a link to a web based irc chat but remember you must stay online so you notice when someone tries to send you an invite.

P.S. Happy turkey day to everyone who celebrates.

I wrote a php script that will crawl (one level only) a given url and find all bot addresses. I ran it against some large bot list sites (of course none as big as this one) and it found a total of 40 bots. Granted 15 of those were found by crawling a google query, but it was still cool. I have tosses those bots on the wiki so I can beef them up when I get a chance. Feel free to check them out and please let us know if you find any that are bogus.

I just received another wave telling me I have 8 more invites to give out. I figure this time I will make it easier for users without wave to get the invite (they are the ones who need it most right?).

Respond to this forum post and tell me why you deserve a wave invite more than anyone else and I will give invites to the best or most entertaining replies. I will give 5 out on Thursday (Thanksgiving day) and 3 on (Black) Friday.

On the 10th I started a small little contest for the most wiki edits. The user with the most content would get a wave invite. Later that night I added 3 invites up for those who tweeted the contest post. The contest ended today (15th) and here are the results:

As for the wiki editing part of the contest, JohnLBeven gets the invite there.

Three invites were also awarded to users who retweeted the post. Those users are (twitter usernames): @gamerfreak1727@patolinx and @willparkman. These users have been either sent an invite or asked to msg me (twitter) to receive their Google Wave invites.

Hi, I’m James Wilson, and pleased to be a part of this site. danopia`, cr_0, and I just launched this new wiki on Wave Protocol and Servers.

WaveCompass.net

WaveCompass.net

Please help us fill it with wonderful wavey goodness on protocols and servers.

The mission: Fill in all the missing cracks left in Google’s (lack of) documentation, and provide easy tutorials on how you can set up your own wave server.

We have detailed protocol information and wish to add more above and beyond what the official Wave documentation says.  We will have instructions on every type of wave server there is, how to federate, and how to set up certificates.

I already have a web-based irc client embedded on a page here but I would like to let you all know that we (along with many other Wave users) can be found on a few different channels on irc. There are currently 3 channels on irc.freenode.net related to Google Wave. #GoogleWaveBots (our channel) is aimed at bot developers and those looking for help with bot related questions. #GoogleWaveInvites is a quick and dirty method to ask for an invite and for someone to offer you an invite (requires you to idle for a while, but seems to be working) and #GoogleWave is for general wave related discussion. A large percentage of wave fans seems to be current or ex-irc users so we hope to see some of you join us.

icon_twitterI just finished adding about 30 more bots to the list. It is hard to count them to keep track of how many I have but there are a lot. I also added a link on the right side of the home page to our twitter account. Please feel free to follow us and share the site with your friends.

Today I received a wave telling me I am now able to invite some friends to the Google Wave preview. After all of the work that has been put into the wiki by everyone I decided I would give 2 of those invites out to the 2 users who add the most content to the wiki (new pages, or adding missing info to existing pages) from now until November 15th.

If you wish to enter the contest, just place your email address to your user page on the wiki. This page can be found by clicking on your username at the top right of the page after you have signed up. The added content or pages must be relevant and not overly fluffed up. I will judge this myself on the 16th and send out the invites to the email address you specify. Thanks to everyone who has and will help keep this site the only real list of Google Wave bots to turn to.

**Edit** I have decided to also give out 3 invites, 1 each to a random user who retweets this post using the retweet button at the top of this post. On the 15th I will make a list of everyone who has retweeted this article and select 3 users randomly from it.

Thanks to you guys the Google Wave Bots list has over 115 pages not counting the empty pages (mostly gadget pages). No other list of wave bots on the internet can even come close. Every day there are 2-6 different users who help add to the list by either adding new information to current bot pages or by adding new bots to the list. Every single bit of effort you spend helps keep this the only place anyone looking for google wave bots would need to go.

If you have any suggestions as to something you would like to see on the site, or something you would like to see done differently, please feel free to leave me a message on the forum. If you have some changes or additions that you would like to submit but do not wish to edit the wiki, you can leave those on the forum also.
